Why activate now
The objective of decarbonizing our economic system is an unpostponable commitment for everyone, businesses, public bodies, individuals and requires urgent concrete actions. For businesses, it is a profound change in the approach to production, the market, stakeholders, which requires strategic planning, investments and finance, the redefinition of organizational and governance structures. The economic system is essential to achieving the European objective of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1999 levels and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
For Italy and the European Union, reducing the consumption of energy from fossil fuels imported from non-EU countries (efficiency) and increasing renewable sources is strategic from an economic and competitiveness perspective. Building a more sustainable economic system with fewer emissions is a primary interest for everyone.
